ABBEYFEALE BID FOR 9th COUNTY TITLE!
| Category: Local News Sport | 0 Comments
Fr Casey’s play Drom/Broadford in the county senior football final at The Gaelic Grounds on this Saturday evening 10th October at 8pm.
The Fealesiders are looking to win a 9th senior county title, but will have their work cut out against a Drom/Broadford side who are the current Limerick and Munster champions.
When these teams met earlier this year in the qualifiers, Abbeyfeale emerged victorious by 1-08 o 0-07. However, neither side will read too much into this result and a real cracker of a game is in prospect between two teams who have displayed intense rivalry over the past few seasons. Indeed, the last time that they met in the county final was in 2000 when Abbeyfeale won with a point in the dying minutes. Drom/Broadford will be anxious to avenge that defeat, while Fr Casey’s will be intent on adding to their tally of county titles.
The game will be played under lights, with the throw-in at 8pm and a huge Abbeyfeale contingent is expected to travel.

We wish all concerned the very best of luck, and it promises to be a night to remember in Abbeyfeale on Saturday night when the lads return with the trophy.
