Limerick’s long-suffering football followers were subjected to another nail-biting finish at Thurles on Sunday against Tipperary in the first round of the Munster Championship.
Leading by ten points after 34 minutes, the Shannonsiders had to withstand heavy second-half pressure from the Tipp men but managed to hang on and eventually gained a two point win, 1-11 to 1-09.
They now meet Clare in the semi-final with a possible encounter with either Cork or Kerry in the Munster Final.
And well done to Leinster who defeated Leicester in the Heineken Cup Final last weekend. The men from the Pale can now claim bragging rights for a few months, but it will make beating them all the sweeter next season!
The British and Irish Lions have arrived safely in South Africa and are now preparing for their opening match on Saturday. South Africa are 1/3 to win the test series. The Lions are 9/4.
Man Utd play in the European Cup Final against Barcelona on Wednesday night. We wish them well. Paddy Power bets 9/5 each of two and 11/5 a draw.
