EASTER GREETINGS
| Category: Local News Sport | 0 Comments
Those of you who succeeded in giving up sweets for Lent will be now checking the old jam-jar which should be overflowing with penny bars and Peggy’s Legs and lollipops and assorted melting toffees of every size and description.
They say that the sun dances on Easter Sunday morning, and there have been many sightings of this strange phenomenon down through the years, mainly from people who have become delirious from severe sugar deficiency due to the giving up of the sweets as mentioned above.
The Ospreys visit Limerick on Sunday to play Munster in the Heineken Cup quarter-final at Thomond Park. Paddy Power offers a miserly 2/7 on Munster reaching the semi-final. (Paddy is obviously feeling the recession)
Leinster are 1/1 to see off Harlequins and set up a mouth-watering encounter with Munster in Croke Park, although Brian O’Driscoll would appear to have a ‘previous engagement’ on his mind at the moment. (women will be the ruination of all of us, so they will – but we wish him well.)
The Munster match kicks-off at 1pm on Sunday, and if you don’t have a ticket and plan to watch it in one of our many fine hostelries, you should go early as every place will be packed.
Incidentally, Munster are now 13/8 favourite to win the Heineken Cup, with Toulouse at 4/1 and Cardiff Blues 6/1. Leinster are 11/1.
Finally, we send Easter Greetings from Abbeyfeale to all our visitors, whether online or those who have returned home in person to spend time with family and friends. Enjoy the weekend. COME ON MUNSTER!
