TEMPLEGLANTINE HURLERS 2007
God bless the young hurlers from ‘Glantine.
Their standard is on the way up;
They defeated the boys from Dun Bleisce
To capture the league and the cup
…………..
Jimmy McCarthy at times was outstanding.
Gerard McCarthy a sound centre-back.
The Riordans and young Pat O’Connor
Were stars in a lively attack.
…………….
Seamus Murphy is a very good goalie;
Tom King soloed out with the ball.
John King and the skilled Seanie Scanlon,
Their brilliance we often recall.
……………
Forget not young Padraig Mulcahy;
Timmy Sexton at top of the right.
Eoin King and the battling Ian Liston
Were hurling with all of their might.
……………..
Martin French was the ‘Glantine full-forward,
Padraig Murphy commanded the square;
John Riordan looks a star of the future,
Cousin James is another good player.
…………….
JJ Condon was a big loss to ‘Glantine.
(Brian Maguigan likewise to Tyrone)
Our subs were Jimmy Dore, Declan Quill and Timmy Kelly.
Shane Carroll is out on his own.
……………
Brendan Lynch and the fast Gavin Hartnett
Are boys who can swing a caman.
Forget not the brave Seamus Finnegan
And the versatile Denis Dillane.
………………
I’m taking a trip to Bulgaria.
(I’ll only be there for a week)
I will follow the fortunes of ‘Glantine
With a cell-phone stuck to my cheek.
