Abbeyfeale clinched the 2007 Limerick U/21 football championship with a 2-11 to 0-7 win over Bruff in Ballygran last Sunday evening.
Bruff started strongly and, when they raced into an early three point lead, an upset looked on the cards. However, Abbeyfeale rallied, and two expertly taken goals from Padraig McEnery and Eamon Flaherty gave the Fealesiders a 2-3 to 0-4 half time lead.
Abbeyfeale were well on top in the second half and finally ran out easy and deserving winners.
Skipper Timmy Gleeson and his team paraded the cup through the town on Sunday night and crowds thronged the streets to give them a rousing reception.
With county titles at senior, minor and U/21 level, football in Abbeyfeale is on an all time high at the moment.
Well done to all involved!
