FATHER CASEY’S 2006
God bless the young men from the Fealeside
Who gave us our eigth senior crown.
Peter Curtin and Kevin and Seamus,
Tom Cahill and young Robert Browne.

Forget not brave Conor McCarthy.
Timmy Gleeson, another young star;
When Joe Kelliher is put in possession
The leather he’ll loft o’er the bar.

Brendan Scannell was mighty at midfield.
Mickey Ned’s trained eye he did catch;
John Lenihan was a brilliant full-forward.
Tom Collins the “Man of the Match”

Padraig Browne was outstanding this season,
Thomas Cahill a never-say-die;
We have Kevin O’Connor from storied Meenkilly,
And Daniel from famed Islandboy.

Andrew Scannell was a wonderful captain,
Martin Scannell has come on a ton.
When Haulie did blow the long whistle
We knew Fr Caseys had won.

We had Tom Enright and Gerard o’Connor,
Shay McAuliffe who never did fail.
John Colbert and Thomas Fitzgerald
Who lives near the “Great Southern Trail”

Best wishes to Pa and Moss Colbert.
Son John was in charge of the team,
Assisted by Seamus McAuley;
In the final our boys were supreme.

Three cheers for the gallant St Senan’s;
Timmy Carroll and Conor Mullane.
Our minors will now play Killmallock,
A team who prefer the caman.

Whose monument stands in The Square.
But the rugby and soccer supporters
Have often tied strings to his hair!
