DROM-BROADFORD 2004.
You`ve heard of the gallant Drom-Broadford?
Their football is surely the best;
Athea they defeated last season,
This year its Newcastlewest.
……………
We honour Ciaran Curtin and Clancy,
O`Connor, O`Leary and Boyce;
Sean Buckley, a great centre-forward,
Eamon Scollard cleared downfield twice.
………………
Pat Donnelly went off on a solo,
Neil Conway is now on a roll;
Gareth Noonan`s approach play was brilliant,
He sent Jason right through for a goal.
……………..
Jason Stokes is a powerhouse of football,
Tom McLaughlin that captained the side.
Tommy Stack he was really outstanding,
Meehaul Reidy is famed far and wide.
……………
Our trainer was Mossie McCarthy,
With the Masseur to give us a rub.
Ray Lynch is a fast corner forward,
Ben Noonan came on as a sub.
…………..
Newcastle had Conor Fitzgerald,
Stephen Kelly and Damien so true;
Sean Cronin knocked out Fr Casey`s,
The boys in the white and the blue.
……………
Brave Jason has vowed to beat Kerry.
That "monkey" must get the heave-ho;
Young Curly gave Kerry that penalty,
In the final they routed Mayo.
………………
We`ll sing of the gallant Drom-Broadford
From Glin to the Cross of Red Chair;
From Croom up to Tooreenagreana,
God keep them all is our prayer.
………………..
God Bless Tom McLaughlin, our captain.
The Kingdom we must overcome;
More power to the parish of Broadford,
And Derry McCarthy`s own Drom.
