TABLE QUIZ WELL SUPPORTED!
QUIZ
The table quiz in Jack O`Rourke`s bar last Friday night was very well supported and a sum of €450 was raised for the Diabetes Centre. The event was organized by Bridget Daughton and a willing band of helpers, and the quizmaster was Lorcan Curtin. Bridget wishes to thank all the sponsors and everyone who contributed so generously to make the evening such an outstanding success.
WALK
Abbeyfeale For Africa are organizing a 6km Charity Walk in aid of Fr Tim Galvin`s Mission in Sudan on this Sunday 19th September. It will commence from the Church yard at 3pm. Sponsorship cards are available from the local Credit Union, Caroina Prendiville, Mairead Daly and Traoine Tobin.
HUNT
The Co. Limerick & Kingdom Hunt Club are organizing a Charity Fun Ride in aid of St Ita`s Day Care Centre, Abbeyfeale on Sunday 3rd October. It will start in The Square at 1.30 pm. The minimum sponsorship will be; Adults – €50. Children – €25. All are welcome.
TIDY TOWNS
A Public Meeting will be held at Glorach Studio on Tuesday 21st September at 8pm. The purpose of this meeting is to form a committee to liase with Limerick County Council. Details of the full programme will be given at the meeting.
Abbeyfeale was awarded 200 points in this year`s County Limerick Tidy Towns competition.This shows a four point improvement from last year.
DEATHS
The death has occurred of Gerard Fitzgerald, The Square, Abbeyfeale. He is mourned by his grieving parents, Philomena and Joe, and by his relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
The death has also occurred of Kathleen Doody, Moynsha. She is survived by her brother, sisters, relatives and friends.

WEIGHTWATCHERS
Weightwatchers will hold a weekly session at Teach Na Feile each Tuesday night from 7-8pm. Both males and females are invited to attend.
RUGBY
Abbeyfeale defeated St Mary`s 10-9 in the Transfield Cup last weekend and will face Garryowen in the second round on Sunday.
SOCCER
Abbeyfeale Utd A recorded a 9-2 win over Kildimo the FAI Cup on Sunday. Abbeyfeale Utd B defeated Rockhill Rovers 2-0 in the league. Abbeyfeale Youths were beaten 3-1 by Breska Rovers.
GAA
Fr Casey`s girls U/16 team made history on Sunday when defeating Bruff by 4-4 to 2-5 in the county final. The team was captained by Jennifer Cummins and trained by Con Healy.
